You guys need a forum space for your comic! I keep wanting to comment about stuff and there's nowhere I know to do it but here I loved the transformation, it came out so cool. The colourist really made it look awesome. So envious, wish I had a colourist :]
Oh, also, make a banner for the comic imo! Once I get the site up for my comic I plan on linking Panthera > So you better make sure it doesn't die!
Thanks for your warm comment, I'm sure the rest of the guys will appreciate it. We did have a comment system on the front page and that was good for a while. Unfortunately it was constantly filled with spam attacks, and we had to take it down. Our website handler is looking into alternates but it seems the logical move is to make a forum. However, we don't plan to add that and banners until after issue 1 is completed, once issue 1 is done (which is only another 6-7 pages) then Red, the boss as it were will do a large campaign drive, then we'll love for you to link us from your site.
Yeh, i still can't look at the page as it came out so well, only bad thing was it took so long. Blame my uni assignment deadlines breakng our schedules lol.
When will the site and comic be up. I wants to see. :3
Awww I gotta wait for a whole issue?! How much longer is that ?? Would it be okay, if there are no banners yet, to text link you on my page? I doubt I will have many visitors right off so it would probably be safe 8DDD Really, tho, I wanna get at least 10 pages done before I begin posting it... I need a buffer. I willprolly update once a week myself.
And yeah I saw that about the spam on the comments for one of the pages. I love reading the comments there, they are always amusing
I am not sure when I'll get the site up. I need to make some kind of layout for my boyfriend to code... I also have to figure out how much to resize the pages. I hate hate HATE resizing my stuff but... if I have to, for it to be viewable, I guess I must! D: most people use 1024 prolly so... I'll have to figure it from that I suppose...
Well apparently we're only 5 issues away so hopefully 5 or so weeks. And sure, we don't mind you linking us. I'm sure we'll be adding other sites from ours after issue 1 as well.
Well my original psd files are like 3000 pix wide, but then reduced to 707x1000 which seems to be a close standard to most webcomics around but you're free to do hwatever dimension you want.
...and that I am totally jealous! ::didn't mean to send that yet LOL:: i tried starting my comic this week and as soon as I try drawing the buildings I start hating myself and close photoshop without saving. i just can't do BGs >_< how the hell do you do that? is it wierd that I cant draw a building or anything liek that ?? LOL
Heh, im glad you like the comic so far. Its a fair amount of work keeping up with it on a weekly basis. Ah the dreaded backgrounds, even i take a bit to do those. It's really sorting out what exactly it is you want, it helps to just do a rough sketch of the buildings and such so you have a rough idea of how it looks and whether it fits witht he characters in the panels. ONly then do you start drawing them and then adding additional detail. Even I am still balancing out detail to efficicency. Too much detail in a background and the characters get lost in the lines.
As for actual problems with drawing buildings, look out your window or google. Get some inspiration. The school they go to for example is based on my own uni with some modifications.
Lol yeah I tried looking it up on google... and out my window atm isss..a wood fence xD; Maybe eventually I just need to grab a camera and take some pics of things. But I am just bad at putting two and two together I think...
I am really debating atm whether to draw my comic on the comp or on paper. It's been extremely back and forth tho :\ so many pros and cons on either side. sigh... lol. this is why this comic hasn't been drawing. poor thing. 12 years and it just fucking rots >_<;;; *whine* lol.
You could always mix it up you know. Draw the lineart and colour on paper, add any wording and additional image effects on comp. It ultimately depends on which you feel most comfortable with rather than which is better. Different people work different ways. I personally draw completely on comp simply because you can quickly manipulate, cut and edit rough sketches should you want something changed.
And i understand the problems with drawing a comic. Panthera is a little easier because the story and script was written by someone else. My own personal comic has barely went past characer creations, some background info and a page because i kept changing the script or i didn't know how to lay it out on a page.
I'm sure it will work out fine for you though as you have wonderful art.
